My CS6 in a Mac El Capitan crashed with a message to uninstall and reinstall. So I uninstalled the system, and tried to reinstall.
I still have my install disk and serial number, but the reinstall failed with the message that the serial number was not valid. This system is several years old (am not sure how old).
Can anyone help? Adobe support refuses to talk.
Re the previous question, I tried again to reinstall, and for some reason the attempt succeeded.
CS6 is not supported under El Capitan. There are reports here practically on a daily basis of problems.
I'm afraid you're on your own beyond trashing preferences, upgrading to Creative Cloud or rolling back the operating system.
Many thanks for that, Bob.
I have been considering whether I will upgrade to the Sierra operating system, and your answer puts a cloud on that.
So far, though things are working again.
