Actually, perhaps I wasn't clear in what I was asking: The method I am using, found on the internet and tweaked by me, works fine. But it requires me to add an MXML code block for the effect sequence.
I am looking to create an Actionscript class that is essentially the effect sequence, that I can instantiate for each object I want to use it on,project to project.
Make better sense?
You just create an instance of the effect and set its properties before you use it.
If you want to create a class for the popup that has its own effect, I guess you could create it in MXML or AS in the custom popup and set the effect to the creationCompleteEffect.
That's a good idea.
I originally wanted to separate it further, so multiple custom pop-ups could share it. But your idea might be better, since the component can then be programmed with the proper effect and duration.
