What, exact, version of After Effects are you running?
What, exact, version of Premiere Pro are you running?
How are you doing the import? (There are at least three ways to get Premiere stuff into AE)
While inside of AE im importing the premiere project into the project folder and Selecting the appropriate sequence.
From there, I double click the comp it made so it is now open and visible.
At this stage every thing is fine and colors are correct. I am able to fully complete the project and render a image sequence with everything looking right on the final output.
The problem is when i save and reopen the Project. Colors are all over the place on certain shots.
re-importing fixes the problem until the next save/reopen.
The reason i need to reopen is im doing multi-machine renders.
Thanks so much, I hope we can figure this out.
I still have not had any luck finding a solution/ cause for this. If anyone has any thoughts don't be shy!
That is just so weird.
What codec is the footage you're using? Where is it stored? Are you doing any color management in your workflow?
The footage is .R3D
Its stored on a NAS Storage server over a 10Gb connection.
i have all color management off. But i have tried with it various Rec709s' also.
In Premiere im grading from R3D master clip with RedLog and Rec709 color space.
On a RGB graph its expanding the RGB, raising highs, and crushing blacks, but mostly in the Blues.
Its blowing my mind.
That is just the weirdest thing. The fact that it works, but then doesn't when you reopen the project is what's odd.
What happens if you open that project in a different version of After Effects? Project files created in 13.8.1 can be opened as far back as the CC 2014 release and, if you use the "Save as version 12" option, you can open it in the original CC release as well. (Your CC subscription includes CS6, CC, CC 2014, CC 2015, CC 2015.3, and whatever the next release is going to be called. Here's how to find the hidden settings to install older versions.)
