But why do you think the catalog is corrupted? The error message doesn't say anything about corrupted.

It turns out that I may have given you bad advice in the other thread.
The link posted by dj_paige indicates that uninstalling and reinstalling may fix the problem, so I suggest that you try that.
If you are asked about deleting or keeping preferences, I would delete them.
Since you have done a system restore, I think it's a good idea to start out with a fresh preferences file, which will set all settings to default. Your catalog is not affected by uninstalling/reinstalling or deleting the preferences.

In regard to my problem.This am I uninstalled Lightroom 6 along with preferences as suggested by Jim Hess. No issue with the reinstall and update to 6.7.I am getting ready to return my photos.to Lightroom.Thank both of you for your help and patience.
