    Datagrid "Cell overflow"?

    leviathan241
      Hi everyone:

MS Excel has a feature where if the data is too large to fit into a cell and the adjacent cell to the right is empty, cell contents can overflow the grid and be displayed over top of the next cell. This "cell overflow" is really useful, since text data is often too large to fit into a cell and using word wrap makes the rows very tall.

Is there anyway to accomplish this in flex? Maybe by extending DataGrid? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Flex has dataTips that provide the rest of the text when it is cut off on
          roll over.

Thanks, Amy. I am currently using dataTips, but I'd really like to find a way to display as much text as possible without having to mouse over. Anyone have a suggestion?
