I have just upgraded to Mac Sierra and my Premiere Elements 10 no longer works. Any new video results in "transcoding error" when burning a DVD and/or storing on my computer. Any old videos I recently made no longer pull up any of the media files, so nothing is there when loading the video for editing. 1. Do I need to upgrade my Premiere software? 2. Do I need to go back to an older operating system? It is a Mac hardware problem?
Thanks for your help
Whenever Mac introduces a new OS, Adobe and Apple fight over who's responsible for all of its problems. Most people are having no problem running Premiere Elements 15 on Sierra.
However, version 10 is a pretty primitive, 32-bit version of the program. Unless you can find a compatibility mode in Sierra, the program may or may not run on that OS.
