I've been evaluating ranorex (ranorex.com). It is windows only, but it works well. Also, it is not cheap.
There is also an open source program called flexmonkey. However, the company that supported development of that platform sold it to Oracle, who has since shut it down. All I can find are some long-abandonded github projects with the last committed code.
Maybe we can find someone to resurrect that codebase again?
RIATest seems to be officially dead. I found this out when I went to download the installer on a different machine.
Their site (https://www.cogitek.com/) states :
RIATest is declared end of life.
RIATest builds released previously are code signed and will stop working when the code signing certificate expires on January 4, 2019 (or earlier if Windows stops recognizing the certificate).
It is highly recommended to move away from RIATest to other products. If you do not do it by the time the certificate expires you will no longer be able to use RIATest.
I should have taken the hint when the crash reports started bouncing.
I am not aware of any tool to migrate existing RIATests to a different tool. If anyone does know of one, please share the joy!
As for an alternative, I believe it is possible to use Selenium with addtional plugins but I have yet to investigate how well this works.
