I would recommend using this plugin -
since it uses the native Google SDK and due to their recent oauth changes. You can follow the readme instructions there. There's also an Ionic specific tutorial around this here - http://blog.ionic.io/google-oauth-changes/
There's also this plugin in case you wanted to try it but I would start with the above first...
So I was able to get the google login to work through the googleplus plugin but I can't interact with firebase at all. Following the web walk though doesn't work on android and following the android walk through doesn't work because its a hybrid app. I need some guidance as to set up Auth, and interact with the database. If there are any resources on how to set up firebase with phonegap that would be perfect.
I agree with @mathewm31969095there is not a single article exist which can work in this universe working on this myth from past 5 months. Tried everything even had a talk with Google and firebase people to help me with the Auth and interact with the database but nothing worked out. Please help hollyschinsky
Any progress on this?
b.rembrandt no, i haven't heard anything after this post and have not found any plugin till today to implement google auth in PhoneGap. The plugin shared in this conversation ie.GitHub - EddyVerbruggen/cordova-plugin-googleplus: Cordova plugin to login with Google Sign-In on iOS and Android might be useful and works but its really really tough to implement it. Anyways i am using custom auth of firebase in my app which doesn't require any sort of plugin until someone finds the solution for google auth.
