My camera is Canon EOS 7D Mark II
a) When I use Lens correction "Profile" on a RAW Image the Lens Model is Identified Correctly as "Sigma 18-35mm F1.8 DC HSM A013"
b) Image taken using Canon HDR, i.e, 3 RAW images rendered and saved as one xxxx.JPG
When I use Lens correction "Profile" on this JPG Image the Lens Model is Identified as "Sigma DC 4.5mm f/2.8 HSM"
Normally the RAW and JPG Metadata will identify this Lens as "Sigma 18-35mm F/1.8 DC HSM , but NOT in the case
of the HDR JPG
Lens profiles are file type-specific. From what you have described, there is a lens profile specifically for your lens for use with raw files. However, it would seem that there isn't a profile for that lens when using JPEG images so Lightroom choose is the closest option available. You will find that there are many more profiles for raw images then there are for JPEG images.
