All of the sudden last night I can no longer sync settings over multiple photos in the develop module. I select the target photo and the photo to sync to and then click the sync button and the sync settings dialog box does not appear and LR seems to freeze. I click anywhere on the screen and the program has froze and the audio warning beep goes off. I can hit escape and it unfreezes. No other functionality seems to be affected by this. I just can't sync my photo settings.
Searched online and have purged the camera raw cache, unchecked the Use Graphics Processor in Preferences. Signed out/Signed in CC, closed LR, uninstalled/reinstalled LR, restarted computer etc
I have LR 2015.7 Release Camera Raw 9.7
Windows 10 Version 1607 OS Build 14393.351
Any help or guidance greatly appreciated. This has stumped my go to person who is a very experienced LR user.

It sounds like LR has gotten confused and is displaying the sync dialog buried beneath other windows or off-screen or almost off-screen. Carefully look all around the borders of your screen(s) -- do you see the edge of the dialog showing, perhaps just one or two pixels wide? If so, try to drag the window back into the center of the screen. (Unfortunately, LR doesn't seem to obey the Windows conventions, so you can't use keyboard shortcuts to try to move the dialog.)
If that doesn't help, try resetting LR's preferences: http://www.lightroomforums.net/showthread.php?25197-Resetting-the-lightroom-preferences-fi le-updated . Most likely, LR has recorded a bogus value of the last position of the dialog window in the preferences, and resetting them will cause the dialog to appear in the default (visible) location.
Resetting the LR preferences worked. Thank you johnrellis.
I closed LR, deleted the preferences file, started LR, selected catalog I was using. Sync now works.
