I've turned off auto update in the CC desktop app. When a new update comes in, I get a notification which is what I want.
But at that point all the main apps revert to trial mode, until the desktop app update is completed. Why is that? I've seen this now on two independent systems, so apparently this is designed behavior.
This is no small matter if you occasionally have to work with a slow or intermittent internet connection!

FAQ: What do I do if I have a membership but my app is acting as if I have a trial?
It's not that the apps revert to trial - it's that they do it when the CC desktop app has a pending update.
Once that update has been run and completed, all the other apps return to their normal, licensed state, by themselves.
The problem here is if an update is issued, but you can't or won't run that update right away, for any number of perfectly valid reasons. Then all your apps are suddenly in 7-day trial mode, after which they of course stop working.
I'm all for the CC model, but the fact that everyone does not have lightning fast internet connection at all times, seems to be missing from the equation.
