Hi. I'm on a mac and had never encountered problems with my Lightroom 5.7 and Photoshop 5 until I upgraded to OS Yosemite. Since then, I have had sporadic and now constant error messages when trying to send raw files from lightroom to photoshop. Error message is:
Lightroom was unable to prepare the selected file at ..... for editing.
It will not be opened.
The other error message I've gotten is when I try to save a photoshop edited file:
Could not save “image...” because of a disk error.
At one point I did uninstall and reinstall my software. I do not need creative cloud and choose not to purchase. Any advice would be very much appreciated.
One of the most common problems after a Mac OS upgrade is file/folder permission problems. Using Finder and other OS tools as needed, check the READ and WRITE permissions on the hard drive and folders for your image areas.
If any of the error message suggest a disk error, run some diagnostics on your hard drive.
Thanks for the suggestions. Hate to sound ignorant, but how would I go about checking read and write permissions? I think I did this once before, as I had the same problems immediately following my OS upgrade about 6-8 months ago.
