Adobe Digital Editions 3.0 has stopped working

Hey guys! how's everyone doing?

I'm having trouble right now with ADE 3.0.  Everytime that I go to open it, my computer (running windows 8) gives me the message in the title and does not open the program.  I've tried to fix the problem myself by uninstalling and reinstalling the program as well as by running the program as admin, but neither of those worked.  The books that I have are saved to my computer as opposed to my account so I can't just run the program on another device.

I have two textbooks for this semester saved on there, so any help at all that you can provide to get my ADE back up and running would be greatly appreciated!
