I have upgraded many adobe programs through Creative Cloud this morning.
The only one that doesn't behave correctly is InDesign 2017.
When you try to use it, it does open and have a menu at the top of the screen. The main screen which allows you to pick your files and show your files doesn't open.
I have tried...
#1 Uninstall/Reinstall
#2 Logging in and out of Creative Cloud Account
#3 Hard boot the computer and repeat #1 & #2
#4 Opening an InDesign File by Clicking on it.
#5 Opening an InDesign File by going to InDesign and opening it
#6 Going back to #3 and trying all over again.
#7 Going to Bridge and trying to open a file in InDesign
Nothing seems to open the window to the file. When I try to exit it asks if I want to save the current version.

Looks like Adobe should find and fix bugs before they release new versions.

Hi Chelsea,
Can you please share some more information for investigating this issue..
1. What OS are you on?
2. Share the screenshot with missing top menu bar.
3. When placing files from brigde, what problem are you encountering? Is InDesign not launching/ Is File not placing/ Or InDesign does not come to front?
Thanks
Monica Singh

I haven't installed the new version yet, but what you are describing sounds a lot like the Start Workspace. Have you tried editing the prefs to show the Start Workspace when no files are open?

Hi Chelsea
It seems that your Start Workspace is not loading. Is it possible that you have installed InDesign on a custom path in which there are special characters like #, _, $, @, etc? If yes, then make sure you remove those and clean preferences and cache.
If this is not the case, then please share your OS details with us to help solve the issue.
