I'm working on an InDesign CC 2017 document that will be exported as a PDF. There's a URL in the document that is fairly long, and even if I set the entire URL to be a hyperlink, once it's exported the 2nd line overflow of the URL is not linked, therefore the link does not work. Is there a way around this?
(I tried typing the word "link" and linking that to the long URL just to see if that would work, but it did not)...
Thank you in advance!
When you export a PDF, are you checking the boxes to make sure that the bookmarks and hyperlinks are being exported? If not, you may be relying on Acrobat's ability to find URLs in raw text and make them active hyperlinks. Acrobat can't complete the link if it crosses lines, so you have to define the link in the Hyperlinks panel and make sure that you are using an export preset that supports hyperlinks and bookmarks. Many of the PDF export presents have the hyperlink checkbox greyed out.
Hi Joel - I figured it was something simple like that...worked like a charm. Thanks so much!
