If I highlight some text and go to the Character format controls palette and put my cursor in the space below or space above box and type a number to add space, it replaces the actual text in the actual document that is highlighted with that number?! Anyone else? I've only just updated to latest InDesign

Hi,

yes the issue you mentioned is indeed there.

As a workaround you can try the following:-

1. Instead of text selection, if you just place the insertion pointer in the paragraph, then it works fine or

2. You can click (or select) any another field and come back to the desired field.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Aman

Yes there are workarounds, thanks very much! I hope they fix it quickly! Before I replace all my text with numbers and my clients think I've gone a bit batty! I didn't have a choice in updating sadly. Anyhow good to know I'm not alone....

Yes - I'm having the same problem and it's driving my crazy.

Most of my department won't do updates because of stupid things like this.

For the record, rebuilding the Preference files doesn't fix it.
