Director does not support AS3. Even Director 11 doesn't fully support
it, though some things work with the hotfix 3 installed...
Anyway, absolutely no AS3 will work in Director MX 2004.
So I should have made the project AS2 if I wanted Director functionality...
I guess I can just make the search feature a separate EXE and have the SWF presentation open in a separate window.
I know this is a Flash forum question, but maybe you know the answer Mike:
How can I open an EXE (or an .app file) from the SWF?
'Fraid I can't help you there. I don't know much about Flash... and
opening files is something that I would always do through Director if
given the chance.
We have always used Director here, but I did a little demo of the project for my client in Director, and published it as a shockwave...the file was huge! (compared to a SWF). That's why we decided to go with flash...so I had to take a crash course on flash.
Anyway, thanks for your help.
