    Dreamweave "PUT" menu item

    bjaschen
Say for instance that you have 10 pages open in Dreamweaver, all from different depths of the root folder. Now it's time to "PUT" the pages back on the server(s). Finding all 10 pages again can be a real drag to highlight them and select "PUT". The lifesaver for time would be the top of the page, in the "File Management" drop down (the up and down arrows), is to add a menu feature for "Put ALL open pages". This would be a huge time saver and also ensure that every page got "put" back on the server accordingly.

If there is already a way to do this without finding them all in the files list, PLEASE advise!

      Thanks!

Are you editing files from the server or from your local site? If the former
you are playing with fire and almost certain to get burned.

If you are editing local copies of your pages, save them when done and then
access the menu in the upper right corner of the Files panel:
Left-click to Open -> Edit -> Select Recently Modified

You can use the option to select files recently modified (from the EDIT
option in the context drop menu of the expanded File panel). DW will
automatically select the files that have been modified within your time
window, and you can then put them all at once.

Beyond the Select recent that Walt and Murray suggest, if you have all of the documents open, then you can move between each of the tabs using CTRL+Tab and then use the PUT keyboard shortcut to upload them one at a time: CTRL+U

Because of this one at a time upload for opened document I wrote an extension quite a while ago (phew, looks like over 5 years ago). It's commercial, but not much, and part of your subscription if you're a Community MX subscriber already:

Great! Thanks for the info on the EDIT drop down menu. Unfortunately though, this only allows you to select pages within the last day. At my place of work, there is anywhere from 2-8 people that could be modifying pages throughout any given day. Plus, some of the pages may be updated 2-3 times per day. I really appreciate all of your input though. This feature will help with some of the sites that we handle, just not all of them.

                  1st: You're Welcome.

                  2nd:
                  >> this only allows you to select pages within the last day.

Wrong! In DW8 the default setting is 7 days. I just selected every file
within my site edited in the last 999 days. I think you may be holding your
                  mouth wrong. ;-)
