Rows in tables highlighted in yellow...how to rid?

I inherited an InDesign document and am very new to the program.

I noticed on a couple tables that the rows are highlighted in yellow. How can I change this and what caused it?

The "X" across the yellow frame suggests that it is separate from the table and could be selected and deleted.

The X looks like you have a graphic frame there.
