Computer running Acrobat XI Pro failed and put in temporary computer, download link Adobe support provided for product loaded, appeared to accept license, but upon launch complained that license valid but missing product wrong, and offered choices for Standard editions...appears that source is expecting to be an upgrade. Adobe support verified license and provided link. Also tried with the original source which I pulled off damaged computer, with same results. Reinstalled and asked for trial rather than entering license, same hiccup referring to valid license but not previous product. This is my first attempt at using "forum" and am wondering if this proper method to approach for answers. Thanks. Bill Shaw Kansas City

your license is for an upgrade.
after entering your acrobat xi serial number you can select the qualifying upgrade (usually acrobat 9 or 10) and then enter the previous version's serial number. your installation will proceed.

agreed, but not installing upgrade, installing or was attempting to install fresh install. since it wasn't an upgrade there is no previous version on computer. I am perplexed, seems to be classic catch-22. thanks so much for taking your time to reply.

you don't need to install the previous version. you just need to select it from the dropdown when prompted and then enter its (the previous version's) serial number.
