I am constantly rendering and re-rendering 3D generated footage as I'm compositing in After Effects. For years now if footage changes or is being written over when After Effects decides to access it, you will be caught in an endless cycle of hitting return on dozens of error windows, the program usually crashes and often the work is not salvaged. This is beyond ridiculous at this point. There should be some measures in place that keeps After Effects from literally freaking out and crashing when footage is being actively updated.
Don't hold your breath! I bet Adobe's too busy adding features to AE that appeal to young millenials in corporate marketing departments to worry about something as mundane as actually making the application work.
