    Can't import Nikon D500 RAW files anymore

      In November I successfully imported NEF files from my Nikon D500. (I had upgraded from LR 5 to LR 6 in order to do so)

      Today I get an error message "the file is not recognized by the raw format support in Lightroom (1)"

      If I click on Check for updates in the window of the error message I get an error " the version check was unsuccessful"

       

      So I thought an upgrade to 6.8 via Help-Updates will fix that. But that generates an error message:

      Lightroom CC (2015.8) / 6.8

      Installation failed. Error Code: U44M2P7

       

      So than i read here "Installation failed" error U44M1P7 with Adobe Creative Cloud or Adobe Creative Suite 6 updates  what to do.

      I have removed the old \Application Support\Adobe\AAMupdater and re-ran the update process - failed again

      I have manually downloaded the update file from here Install Photoshop Lightroom and ran the update process manually - failed again

      So in short - I am now stuck and will need to deliver images soon.

      Adobe support is closed as I type this.

       

      Any ideas how to resolve this?
