trouble with mocha AE supported formats

I'm trying to work with motion tracking software in mocha AE on PC, and I am running out of time for it to start working. I work almost always with .mov files, but every time I attempt to use mocha, it gives me the same error message, "The file is corrupted or in an unsupported format." Now i know mocha accepts Quicktime files, but it won't take this one and that is particularly frustrating. I've tried the conversions online for both .mov to make sure i had the right codecs, and I tried .mp4 to be sure. Neither worked. What's wrong?
