Have you kept InDesign version CC2015 as well?
Aha! I have CC2015.4 running on another machine and all my files are fine.
How do I remove 2017 on this macbook pro?
You can uninstall by using the drop down "gear" icon in the Creative Cloud App under InDesign CC2017.
But how do I get the 2015 version if the new one deleted it? Pretty sure I cannot copy it from my iMac....
UPDATE: I opened and chat session with Adobe and handed over my computer to a remote session. Of course now InDesign worked like a champ. But I suspect that maybe it was helped by the fact that I opened and closed the program several times in the meantime. Note to anyone interested, be sure to try opening from both ways: inside the program open a file, and open from the finder folder. Once InDesign started to work, they both worked.
Whew! glad to have that over...... back to work.
Glad you got it figured out.
Here's my tip—keep 2015 installed for a few weeks, to be sure that 2017 is really working properly.
Also, you can directly open a 2017 InDesign file in 2015 (though it goes through a conversion process) in case it isn't.
