    goToAndPlay in authoring mode

    Level 7
Does goToAndStop() work in authoring mode? I've created a simple movie with
this function in frame 2. It has no effect. When I test a projector it
works. Does the same also apply to goToAndPlay() and stop()?

      Thanks,

      Brian

Did you use goToAndStop or gotoAndStop? The first won't work.

I did the wrong capitalization in the email, but not in Flash. The problem
is not with syntax errors. I'm just asking why gotoAndPlay doesn't work in
            the IDE.

Make sure you select Control > Enable Simple Frame Actions, which you
can, of course, turn off again later.

Ok, this works after I check "enable simple frame actions". Is there a
description of exactly what actions this choice enables?

                Thanks,

Thanks, this worked. I couldn't find this in the docs though. Is there
documentation on exactly what the following do?

                  - Enable Simple Frame Actions
                  - Enable Simple Buttons
                  - Enable Live Preview

                    >

Simple navigation, like play(), stop(), gotoAndPlay(), and
                    gotoAndStop().

                    > - Enable Simple Buttons

Temporarily lets button symbols (and possibly movie clip "buttons") act
like they do in a published SWF. This can be useful for testing, but it
keeps you from being able to select the symbol to move it around -- so turn
it off again when you want to make revisions.

                    > - Enable Live Preview

Temporarily lets some UI components respond in ways they do in a
                    published SWF.
