    Automatic Code Selection

    jaredl42
When I select a line or two of code and attempt to copy it to the clipboard, it automatically selects the entire code block. Is there a way around this or a preference somewhere to prevent this from happening?

Sounds like you might have word wrap enabled, so you're seeing what appears
to be a code block, when it 's just a line of code. If you go into Code view
from the Document toolbar, you can choose View Option > Word Wrap to disable
          it.

Or choose to show the line numbers in code view. Does everything fall
            within a single line #?

I have embedded an swf file to my opening page, so that the music begins when the site launches, which is good, but when you leave that page, the music stops. What must I do, including the entry of any customized java code, so that the music continues to play out, even when a person clicks to other pages on the site?

The only two ways you could do that would be -

                1. Use frames which is a very poor decision, or
                2. Open a popup window containing the media player for the music

In my experience, both of those are very poor choices....

Word wrap is disabled... The problem is when I try and select a <tr> or <div> element inside a <table> in code view, it selects the entire <table>. Let's say I just want a <tr> or something, so I go to copy it and then it selects the entire <table>. Hope this makes sense and thanks for all your input!

I create a new blank HTML page, insert a table on it, click inside the
table, locate and select a <tr> on the Tag Selector bar. That row is
selected in the code. I cannot reproduce your symptoms.

I'm working in code view and all I do is put my cursor anywhere inside the code block. Once I attempt to copy certain characters within that block, it selects the entire <table> or <php> block. This may be an isolated issue, but thanks for all your help.

                                Try the following -

                                1. Click in the row in the table (Code view)
                                2. Click on the rightmost <tr> tag on the Tag Selector
                                3. Copy the selected markup

                                Does that work?

I seem to have fixed the problem by closing the Code Inspector while editing in Code view. Thank you for your time and efforts.
