Import problems from Applications

I have iMac running El Capitain, I have installed Lightroom CC package. I can import from my Downloads but trying to import from Photo's Application/program my whole collection is stored there! When I click import and follow Macintosh HD>Applications> ....Photo's is not a choice? Then I try Users>iMac>Pictures nothing, eventually I can get to see Photo's by another indirect way but it is greyed out??? Please help??

Hi colinm,

Please refer this thread can photos stored in the new Apple Photos be quickly transferred to Lightroom? I am not at all happy...   and let us know if that helps.
