    Upgrading from Dreamweaver 8

      Hello,

We are currently running Dreamweaver 8 and need to upgrade to the latest version of Dreamweaver for the Mac. Will files that are created on DW 8 be compatible with the current version of Dreamweaver? Are there any upgrade issues we need to be aware of? Your help is greatly appreciated.

DW 8 is too old to qualify for an upgrade.  You will need to subscribe to Creative Cloud on a month-to-month or yearly plan.   That's the only option now.

The simple answer is yes, your HTML & CSS files will work in any HTML editor.   However a lot has changed in 10 years.  Your code may need to be updated to modern web standards.

And you will find that DW CC 2017 is very different from what you have been using.   DW is aimed at designers/developers who like to work with code and have a good understanding of modern HTML, CSS & JavaScript.  Try DW CC free for 7 days.
