If you prefer processing RAW images with ACR instead of the camera maker’s proprietary software you might want to petition them to allow shooting DNG so that Adobe does not have to play catch-up with each new camera model’s RAW format.
Please see for yourself which version of Camera Raw supports a camera and which version of Photoshop is compatible with that ACR version:
Using the free DNG Converter would be an alternative.
You did not mention which exact camera model you are referring to.
sorry about that - grandkids visiting ;-(
i;m looking at both the older quatro dp0 and the new sd quatro kit. i shoot artworks and like the detail they give in controlled situations (otherwise they're a PITA). however, sigma's software, well, let's not go there ;-(
Have you tried using DNG Converter yet to convert the RAW files to DNGs which Photoshop CS6’ Camera Raw version should be able to handle?
haven't bought either camera yet - still weighing up the pro's (few) and cons (lots) - opening files being one of them. i'll have a look on the net and see if i can find any original raw files to test out.
that's for your time and interest.
