    3D Text Layers

    JesseHarris Level 1

      I'm on a Mac w/El Capitan running - 2017 CC.

I have two 3D text layers which I'm animating mostly in 2d - however when one layer leaves frame I want it to mask (cover) the other text layer.  It doesn't matter if I place either layer on top - no masking.

These are layers extruded from png files, then made to "create shapes from vectored layers" (imported ai stacked for video files).  I have a feeling a track matte is the answer, but these files do not have that option.  (The ai stacked for video files do and I've tried a few combinations but when I put a track matte referencing a 3d layer, it disappears.

      Appreciate any help and/or tutorials.
