What version of Lightroom do you have? Give us the exact version number.
What Operating system do you have? Give us the exact version number.
What exact camera took these photos? Are they JPG or RAW?
Tried to edit my post:
Lightroom version 6. Says no updates available...so I assume it is the latest version.
OS X El Capitan 10.11.6
Raw from either Canon 5Dmk4
Now I think I see the problem. It didn't restore Lightroom to the latest version that could handle raw files from my newer cameras. I can't update because I just have a site license. Someone on Main Campus has all the license information. They will need to walk us through the update again. This is a major problem with a site license: the end user does not have the require permission to keep his programs up to date.
yes, there are updates available
If you can install the updates yourself, find them at https://blogs.adobe.com/lightroomjournal/2013/06/keeping-lightroom-up-to-date.html
Canon 5D Mark IV needs Lightroom 6.7 or later
Nikon D500 needs Lightroom 6.5 or later
Can’t update… This happens at least once every other month. This issue is that we don’t get the permission to update our software from Main campus. They own the license are we are just a sub licensees. I really don’t have time to go through this every time my programs need an update.. I have two choices: get a separate license for myself or go with Capture One. I have told other Faculty to not go through the University because of this problem and the IT people don’t want to help. I don’t see this as a problem with CC or Lightroom but a problem with the system…
Could you possibly download and install the free Adobe DNG Converter? If so, the you could make use of these RAW photos by converting them to DNG and importing into LR.
I probably can but I shouldn't have to. I think my site license expires soon and I will then make a decision at that point as to what I will do to have a fully functional program that I can update as needed without all the problems. I appreciate all your help!
Who or where can I get help installing my new purchase

I have the full CC 2017 installed and ever program is working correctly except Lightroom. I keeps saying I have Lightroom 2015. I want to install my latest purchase so that I have a fully functional Lightroom. When I delete the old version, it keeps installing it even if I have the most recent purchase.
Lightroom CC 2015.8 is the latest version.
When you reinstall, the base version (2015.0) is installed, and it has to be updated.
I'm not familiar with site licenses, but generally, if updating using the desktop app or Help > Updates doeesn't work, the 2015.8 update can be downloaded and installed manually from here: Keeping Lightroom Up-to-Date
