    Bulk update

      Hi,
I'm looking for information on how to bulk update files in a database using CF. I can edit files one at a time no problem, but I want to change a bunch of info all at once on different records. I have Forta's Web App Construction and App Dev books but can't seem to find the reference. Thanks.

You are going to have to rely on your RDBMS for this. For example, in
Oracle, I'd be writing a stored procedure and calling that from CF using
<cfstoredproc>. On really big tables, you can just create a new table
rather than update the existing one, then drop the original and rename the
new table. This is all done in stored procedures but CF can call and
          activate those procs for you.

The answer is, it depends on the details.
