I was previously using an external drive for all of my photos and videos that I would connect and disconnect when done. I just recently copied it all to another larger drive and placed that drive in an enclosure that is always connected to my iMac. I was not planning to re-point my catalog yet to the new drive, though it seems LR automatically found it somehow. I named the new drive with the same name as the one I used previously. Is this how LR found it?
How do I manually change the location of my media back to the other drive if I want to? I just want to check for the number of missing photos on the old drive and compare it with the new one to ensure that everything is the same.
Thanks!

Yes, Lightroom doesn't know that it's a new drive because the name is the same.

I believe all you'd have to do is un-plug the new drive and plug the old drive in.
