CS5 Mac: Illustrator quits unexpectedly every time I save

Hi,

I am working on CS5 Illustrator and it quits every time I try to save a document after I have made changes. Other forums suggested getting rid of corrupted fonts, uninstalling and reinstalling, etc. But none of these have worked for me. Any other suggestions on how to fix this problem?

What version of OS are you running?

Where are you trying to save (local HD, mounted drive, network, etc.)?

I'm running on OS X Yosemite 10.10.5

I am trying to save locally on my desktop.

CS5 and Yosemite might not be fully compatible.

Does it work when you do not change file location in the Save dialog box?

Just to make sure: Is there a printer correctly installed, connected, and turned on if it is physical printer (you may use Adobe PDF/Acrobat Distiller as the default printer with no need to have a printer turned on, obviously you will need to specify when you actually need to print on paper)?

Illustrator contacts a printer every time it saves and therefore might produce issues when there is no printer.

You have a permissions problem. Please use the Disk Utility to repair your permissions.
