Trouble installing Lightroom 6.8

I currently have Lightroom 6.7. I manually downloaded and installed 6.8, but when I restart LR, it still says I have 6.7.

uninstall 6.7.

then install 6.8

Okay. So I should download the full install and not just the update. Will I have a problem with my license key if I uninstall LR?

correct.

your lr 6 serial number is valid for all lr 6 versions including 6.8.

So I did uninstall 6.7. Then installed 6.0. Then ran update to 6.8 and that worked.
