I have a PDF with form fields that users can fill out. Recently, the PDFs are experiencing a problem where, when you open them, there is a security warning saying that the PDF is trying to connect to itself. If you click Allow, it then opens a box trying to find a file containing form data (XFDF), which does not exist. You can Cancel that, but then when you save the PDF the next time, it does not retain anything you entered into the form fields.

I investigated the form sent across in the mail . The reason of your observations is a Javascript running on the document open action.
You can access the Javascript through the following steps:
1. Open the document in Acrobat
2. Open "JavaScript" from the "Tools" tab.
3. Click on "Document Javascripts". You will find this in the top bar.
If you notice, there is a script here which you can edit. This script both does a this.resetForm() and this.importAnXFDF() which is the reason for your o
