Adobe Standard DC subscription download error

I'm trying to install Adobe Standard DC through the invitation that was sent and it gets stuck at 24%. Then it gives the error: Downloadstalled_peerlistempty. It goes to another error: Acrobat installer encountered an unexpected failure; if failure continues contact adobe support.

uninstall all acrobat and reader versions that might be on your computer.

if win, clean per Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs

restart your computer

install the cc desktop app from here, https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud

use the desktop app to install your acrobat cc subscription.
