RoboHelp 8 doesn't recognize Framemaker 12

I have a new RoboHelp 8 installation (8.0.0.203) and have tried to start a new project by importing Framemaker 12 (12.0.0.329) files (book or *.fm file), but the operation cannot be completed as RoboHelp doesn't recognize my installation of FM.  The program versions are the current versions that are in use by a client I'm working with -- it is possible that I could make a case for different versions, if absolutely required.  Are these two program versions compatible? If so, how do I go about correcting this problem?

To create a linked project with Fm 12 files, you'll need to install Rh 11.

Alternately, you might push the Fm files via MIF back to Fm 9 and link.
