1. Re: Is there an effect in PSCC like in PSE12 for "recessed frame?
99jon Jan 30, 2017 1:08 PM (in response to PhotoArtistClaudia)The benefit of Photoshop Elements is that it has all those one-click macros which are built- in under the Expert Mode tabs for effects, graphics and styles.
You can of course create your own macros in PS and can be much more creative, but that involves more manual editing initially. However once an action is recorded it can be used multiple times and applied to a whole batch of images; not possible in PSE.

PhotoArtistClaudia Jan 30, 2017 1:24 PM (in response to 99jon)99jon Thank you for the quick response.
CC has so many more options/tools, which will take some time to get use to, however, I like all the new possibilities.
Always Learning,
Claudia

3. Re: Is there an effect in PSCC like in PSE12 for "recessed frame?
99jon Jan 30, 2017 1:32 PM (in response to PhotoArtistClaudia)Yes Claudia, Photoshop Elements is a powerful application, often misunderstood. It has about 90% of the features of PS CC but without the pro support for full 16bit editing, CMYK commercial offset printing and the full range of camera raw tools. But you will soon learn the power and possibilities of PS CC.
You will find lots of helpful on-line video tutorials for PS CC and there is a dedicated forum if you have further questions.

Jeff Arola Jan 30, 2017 4:00 PM (in response to PhotoArtistClaudia)1 person found this helpfulThere is a Recessed Frame action that ships with photoshop cc.
In photoshop go to Window>Actions, load the Frames actions, make a selection with the Rectangular Marquee Tool and then run the Recesses Frame action.
