what is the timing fearure in the settings and how can you switch it of, I am looking at a clock with a blue bar beside it on one of my projects and it has jammed my progress

It sounds like you're referring to the "history scrub" feature.... which enables swiping backward/forward through edits.

Is it still stuck? Have you tried force-quitting the app and relaunching?
