Conversion of PDF file to word on my Mac. I sgn in to use the facility correctly I believe but when I press the convert button it comes back with the message 'incorrect sign in '. What am I doing wrong or what should I do ?

I hope that you are signed in Adobe Reader using the same email address that you have registered on Adobe.
I see that you have subscription for Export PDF service.
For testing purpose try converting the PDF online by logging on http://cloud.acrobat.com/ and see if that works.
if it still doesn't help, then-
Uninstall the application using cleaner tool-http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html
And reinstall it-Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Install for all versions
