Per Berntsen Feb 7, 2017 1:34 PM (in response to alexandran22785188)3 people found this helpfulTypekit now sells fonts in addition to the fonts that are free with a CC subscription.
You would have to buy the first font in the screenshot (SEK 173), but the second font is included in your subscription.

alexandran22785188 Feb 7, 2017 1:48 PM (in response to Per Berntsen)Thank you!
A couple of months ago I subscribed to the entire Adobe-kit (with Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc) - did I, by doing this, also
subscribe to CC or is CC something I have purchased as an addition to the full Adobe-kit - an addition that adds to my monthly fee?Sorry if this is a stupid question, I am so confused right now.

kglad Feb 7, 2017 2:09 PM (in response to alexandran22785188)check your account to see what you've purchased, https://www.adobe.com/account.html
i'd assumed you had a cc subscription because you're posting in a cc forum. if that's incorrect, i'll move this thread.

The subscription also includes Typekit, and there is no extra charge. (except the fonts that are not included)

9. Re: Is synced fonts in Typekit free of charge?
kglad Feb 7, 2017 2:28 PM (in response to alexandran22785188)the way i read it, with an 'all apps' subscription, he should have all the fonts (unless he's part of a team plan or education plan etc):
again, from the message 1 link:
Typekit is available standalone or as part of Adobe’s Creative Cloud service. Most Creative Cloud subscriptions include a Typekit Portfolio plan with access to our full library of fonts; a few Creative Cloud options include a Typekit Free plan, with a subset of the fonts available. Refer to the System and subscription requirements page to learn which Typekit plan is included in your Creative Cloud subscription.
What's included in your subscription
A Typekit Portfolio plan with the full font library for web and sync use is included with:
- A paid monthly or annual Creative Cloud All Apps subscription;
- Each seat of a Creative Cloud team subscription;
- A Portfolio, Performance, or Business stand-alone Typekit plan;
- Any single-application Creative Cloud plan (except Adobe Acrobat).
- The administrative contact for a Creative Cloud team subscription;
- An Adobe Acrobat single-application plan;
- Trial Creative Cloud subscriptions.
Creative Cloud is also offered via several educational licensing programs, some of which include a Typekit Portfolio plan and some of which include the Typekit Free plan. Please get in touch with your school's Adobe representative if you have any questions on the particular package that you purchased.
Typekit Enterprise subscribers may sync fonts from the Limited library, but do not have the option to upgrade to full library access. Please contact enterprise@typekit.com with any questions on your Typekit Enterprise subscription.

1 person found this helpfulI responded to your email, but for the sake of this thread -
The font Nimbus Sans Cond L is available for sync at no additional cost with a Typekit Portfolio Plan or better. You would not have been able to make a font purchase without going through a checkout confirmation screen.
If you would like more information about the type of subscription included in your Creative Cloud membership, I'm happy to assist via email.
Best regards,
Molly

13. Re: Is synced fonts in Typekit free of charge?
kglad Feb 7, 2017 5:35 PM (in response to mollybd)i don't see any clarification from the message 11 link. that's confusing.
i thought the message 9 quotes from adobe.com were clear and easy to understand but if that's outdated info that's misleading.
and if private emails are required to help customers understand typekit i'd say adobe has another problem.

mollybdFeb 9, 2017 9:18 AM (in response to kglad)
Can you link me to exactly which info you think is misleading or outdated? The "What's included in your subscription" info that you copy and pasted was accurate. Typekit Portfolio is included in All Apps memberships as well as most single app memberships.
Private emails are not required to clarify Typekit services. However, in order to tell a customer what type of subscription they have I need to look up their Adobe ID in our backend. This is personal information that we do not share in the forums.

17. Re: Is synced fonts in Typekit free of charge?
kglad Feb 9, 2017 9:38 AM (in response to mollybd)my message 9 bullet lists a number of subscriber categories (that looks like it includes most non-enterprise subscribers) that have access to all fonts.
Per Berntsen indicated that was no longer true.
your message indicated a private email was need to explain the situation. i've never seen any other staff use private email to determine a customer's subscription type.
bottomline: is message 9 info still valid? i found that easy to understand.

18. Re: Is synced fonts in Typekit free of charge?
rebeccaw10279570 Feb 9, 2017 1:43 PM (in response to mollybd)Can i answer even if its not a question for me,
I think it is confusing because there is no expectation that this service is available or included in the price of the subscription. Typekit appears to be a very seperate service for CC which I know I have paid for.
I find the 'Change you Plan' page confusing, it look like I've opted for the 49.99 plan and the Free plan is a downgrade when actually its not 49.99 its Free to me. It looked like I've been opted in to pay 49.99 per month.
The world free is used on that page but not in the right places, 'Free to downgrade' and You're free to use'. Not Its FREE, you don't have to pay, type of free. On the font page again the Font is described as In Free Plan and is not available, i.e. its not free to me I have to pay.

19. Re: Is synced fonts in Typekit free of charge?
SDAgency Oct 2, 2017 2:48 PM (in response to alexandran22785188)This is downright misleading to say a CC subscription plan includes “Our full library of fonts. Use on unlimited websites, and in any application” when now the Typekit is full of pay as you go fonts. So as a paying subscriber do we or don't we have access to all the fonts.

20. Re: Is synced fonts in Typekit free of charge?
JasonDD210 Nov 5, 2017 3:39 AM (in response to alexandran22785188)The problem with Adobe TypeKit is that the service operates only while you have a valid CC subscription. That means if, for some reason your subscription ends, any websites you have built using Typekit will suddenly lose their fonts.
For that reason I don't use the TypeKit service for any web work. It's ok for printed stuff, but the idea that a website that can potentially lose its fonts means that in order to guarantee its future to a client, you have to carry on your CC subscription.

21. Re: Is synced fonts in Typekit free of charge?
SDAgency Nov 5, 2017 7:05 AM (in response to JasonDD210)Jason, Exactly. As a company we made a decision to never use any Adobe fonts on a website.
We also do visual identity packages. It's important to have consistency with typography between print and web for clients. Therefore we also avoid using Adobe fonts in visual identity.
We almost entirely rely on FontSquirrel or Google Fonts. While it might be good business for Adobe it is not good for designers.

Ben, Typekit SupportNov 6, 2017 12:13 PM (in response to JasonDD210)
Hi Jason and SDAgency,
I work at Typekit and can shed a bit of light here. You can use Typekit web fonts without a Creative Cloud subscription, there is a standalone Typekit subscription for this ($49.99 a year = 500,000 pageviews a month). We have an easy path to switch to a standalone Typekit plan should you need to. This transition won't result in any downtime for web fonts as long as we can take care of it in a reasonable amount of time.
I hope this will allow you to use Typekit web fonts if you'd like to. Let me know if you have any further questions.
Cheers,
Benjamin

23. Re: Is synced fonts in Typekit free of charge?
SDAgency Nov 6, 2017 2:14 PM (in response to Ben, Typekit Support)Thanks Ben, however, we'll continue to avoid Adobe Typekit for new sites because you're still saying a subscription of some kind will always be required for the fonts to stay active. As you know if you have hundreds of websites that rely on Adobe fonts and Adobe decides maybe they will continue to raise Adobe CC or Typekit subscription costs that puts us in a real bind. We were warned by a regional Adobe authorized person years ago before Adobe Typekit got big that this was the direction things were headed. Therefore we use as many SIL fonts or support creative typography artists or have started creating our own fonts in order to not be under that kind of pressure.It doesn't feel like having choices, it feels like being held hostage. PS: Adobe Typekit used to market that we would get access to all the fonts, but now we're limited to only a certain amount. Again, that feels like a gotchya.
