Whenever I open a page for editing it opens in RH9 in its own tab. Having openened many HTM files results in as many tabs being open.

Is there a way to adjust RH such that only one tab is opened and the previous being closed and stored automatically?

Sorry, never seen a setting that makes RH act that way - you can right-click on the tabs (IIRC) and choose to close a number at once.

Go to Tools > Options and deselect Allow Editing of Multiple Topics. I don't think it will auto-save but it will prompt you to save and then close.
