    Lightroom and Camera Raw versions

    Groove28

I want to use my Lgtrm (Ver. 6.0) and Camera Raw (ver. 6.7) to open raw files from my Nikon D500 and Sony  A7RII but unsure which versions are compatible. Do i have to update to a newer version of Lightroom or can I use the actual version? What is the recommended solution or suggestions?

I also have PS CS5 Extended, ver. 12.0. Do I need to change this version as well?

      Help needed please.

      Thx.

You cannot assign different versions of Camera Raw to Lightroom. Lightroom does not use  the Camera Raw plug-in in that manner. All of the raw technology is part of Lightroom. Your camera requires that you have a all I know is in my you have really is the related lloan. Together you  t least Lightroom 6.5 installed. The latest version is Lightroom 6.8, and you might as well make sure you update to that version. It will have support for your camera. That is a free update since you have already purchased Lightroom 6. Your version of Photoshop can only use up to version 6.7 of the Camera Raw filter. So when you choose to send an image from Lightroom to Photoshop you need to always choose the option to render a copy with Lightroom adjustments. That copy will include all of your Lightroom adjustments and provide you with an image that you can edit further in Photoshop. When we talk about Lightroom/Camera Raw compatibility we are referring to the version of Camera Raw required to provide full compatibility between Lightroom and Photoshop. Lightroom 6.8 is fully compatible with Camera Raw 9.8. That means that if you're using the latest version of Camera Raw it will read all of your adjustments as the image transfers from Lightroom to Photoshop. Since you are using an older version of Photoshop then you need to let Lightroom create a copy  that includes all of your Lightroom adjustments.
