Auto Heading Title Not Carrying Over to Next Page

I have a paragraph style setup to auto number a sub-heading under each main heading I have. It works great when on one page but when I try to add a subheading on a second page it restarts the numbering instead of continuing. It's working like this:

Heading 1

Subheading 1.1

Subheading 1.2

Subheading 1.3

NEW PAGE

Subheading 1.1

Subheading  1.2

Is there a way to get the sub-heading numbering to continue onto the second page?

Paragraph styles > Bullets and numbering

Mode: Continue from previous on both levels should help.

Hi

You must define a list with "Continue numbering across stories" option ON.

Apply the created list to all your list paragraph styles. If Subheading para style is based on Heading para style, just define the list for Heading.
