I cannot connect my scanner to my trial Photoshop Elements 15

I have just downloaded a trial of Photoshop Elements 15, but it does not see my Canon CanoScan 8800F scanner when I go into Import.  I am using a Apple Macbook Pro OS X Yosemite version 10.10.5.  I have tried using two different USB ports to connect the scanner, but it still cannot see the scanner.  The scanner is otherwise working fine if I use the software that came with it.  Does this mean that it is not compatible?

Your scanner probably needs the legacy TWAIN plug-in. It was possible to run this with 32 bit versions but as far as I know there is not a TWAIN version for 64 bit Windows and PSE15 is only available as a 64 bit application.

You could check with Canon to see if the WIA driver is available.

Alternatively use the scanner software and import into PSE using:

File >> Get Photos & Videos >> From Files & Folders
