I created a Smart Collection in Lightroom CC based on Capture date and it successfully included all photos but DID NOT include video clips captured in the date range.
Has anyone had the same problem or know how to overcome this?
Some other information;
- Bridge does not have this problem. If you create a Smart Collection in Bridge the Video and Photo files all are correctly included.
- In Lightroom CC you can "Edit Capture Time" for the video from the Metadata tab option, so this proves the video does have a Capture Date which is used by Lightroom but this does not appear to be used to find files to include in a smart collection; why not?
LR often has problems with video capture times and can behave inconsistently. To see if you're encountering this bug, use the View > View Options command to show the capture time under thumbnails in Library grid view. Then check the time under the thumbnail with the capture time shown in the Metadata panel:
If they don't match, you've tripped over the bug. See this post for a workaround; Lightroom: Still inconsistent capture date/time for photos and videos | Photoshop Family Customer Community . Please add your me-too vote to that bug report to make it a little more likely Adobe might fix the bug sometime before the next ice age.
