I made the monumental mistake of uninstalling Adobe Edge Animate CC 2015 today thinking that Adobe Animate CC 2017 would be able to work with the AN project files. Realizing the terrible mistake I had made, I reinstalled Edge Animate. Now, when I open or create ! a project, all I get is "an unknown error has occured", followed by a "unknown C++ error"; several dozens of error windows appear stacked over the top of each other. Sadly Edge Animate CC 2015 no longer functions.
Any insights or guidance on how this might be fixed would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your patience.
I have same problem too.
Thank you, siddikas47613808, I was thinking I was the only one. I talked to my IT contacts at work, and it looks like Adobe Edge Animate CC 2015 is no longer supported. I'll have to find the forum entry, however, Adobe has stated that Adobe Animate CC 2017 is a complete replacement for both Flash and Edge Animate.
I think any user who keeps the applications installed will be able to continue developing Adobe Edge Animate CC 2015 projects. It's just that there will be no updates for the application since it is "no longer under active development." It's important to note that Edge Animate project files (ending in .an) are not recognized by Adobe Animate; so I'll have to recreate my legacy projects.
