I recently joined the adobe cloud and find lightroom/photoshop very slow. I read a high res screen will improve performance. I have a laptop. If I link it to a high res monitor, will it improve performance? I am very frustrated with the time HDR and merge takes.
I have both LR and PS installed on a 5 year old i7 system and both run very well. It is overclocked and I do have a SSD for the OS and programs but all in all both PS and LR run fast. I do not use a high res monitor but I do have dual monitors. And along with that a 5 year old, not high end, video card. I also have the GPU option turned off in LR and on in PS.
The HDR and merge features do not have anything to do with your monitor.
If these functions are really slow, you need more memory and/or more CPU horsepower.
That said, if you have a multiple CPU system with more than four cores, in some cases LR has problems with this. The work around seems to be to limit LR to only four cores.
Thanks to all.
