Replacing color of a black line drawing image

I placed an image into my photoshop file. It's a simple black line drawing. I want to change the color of the line drawing. However, when I try to use "replace color" it only lets me change it on the grayscale. How can I change it to purple for example?

Change Image >  Mode from Grayscale to RGB Color.
